What is CuVerro® ?
CuVerro® is a solid surface that’s a unique class of copper. The surface continuously kills 99.9% harmful bacteria*, when cleaned regularly, and is the latest innovation by Olin Brass, a global leader in copper-based alloys.
CuVerro® represents the only class of solid surface materials registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to actively kill bacteria*. The inherent properties work 24/7 in between cleaning, never washing out or wearing away, making CuVerro® ideally suited for commonly touched surfaces where bacteria is a concern. Easy to maintain, CuVerro® is tarnish-resistant and will not oxidize and turn green like pure copper.

Bed Techs Antimicrobial Technologies is an advanced treatment technology applied to hospital beds with antimicrobial copper materials to kills bacteria and prevent infections from spreading. The process uses EPA-Registered technologies from LuminOre Copper Touch and MR Label Co.
Clinical studies and laboratory testing for EPA found that copper surfaces are effective in reducing infection and bacterial transmission. Their studies show that copper surfaces reduce 85-95% of bacteria compared to wood, metal, and plastic surfaces. Bed Tech Antimicrobial Technologies can be applied to any bed model.
This system utilizes a technology that keeps a patient’s primary care area and bed surfaces cleaner. Other cleaning methodologies can help reduce bio-load, but this state-of-the-art technology is active and keeps hospital area clean, without human intervention and the hassle of additional training, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
*Laboratory testing shows that regularly cleaned CuVerro® surfaces kill over 99.9% of the following bacteria within 120 minutes of exposure: Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE), E. coli O157:h7, and Enterobacter aerogenes.
