For Shipments within the Continental US

Let us be your supplier for all of your durable good labels and ribbons. Tell us your application, and we will recommend the construction to best suit your application and price point! We will be happy to send you samples for you to test in your application.

For Shipments on International Waters

The IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) requires a BS 5609 certification. This certification will test the label to a 3-month exposure to saltwater, UV exposure, abrasion, and temperature cycling. In this way, this certification is similar to UL in that the ribbon and label must be approved as a construction. MR Label has many material and ribbon options to best suit your specific application. Just supply us with your label details: what is the label applied to and how will the on-demand printing be done and let us make a recommendation. We’d love to hear from you!

Are you curious about Section 2 & Section 3 details?

Section 2: Tests the base material and requires that labels withstand a three-month salt water submersion test (carried out at a test site on the south coast of England). The test specifically looks for dimensional stability, peel adhesion, and colorfastness after long-term exposure to salt spray and sunlight.

Section 3: Tests the printed label for permanence, abrasion resistance (legibility and contrast after exposure to sand and artificial seawater), and colorfastness. This includes the inks or ribbons and print methods or systems that were used to create the label.
